All Star team members Daryl, Terri, and Chris are slowly getting used to their new haircuts after pledging to lose their locks to raise funds for life-changing blood cancer support and research.
The World’s Greatest Shave took place this past February, with the talented team at Grindstone Williamstown doing the honours on-site in Altona. And by the time the clippers were put down, they’d well and truly exceeded their goal.
Together, as team World’s Greatest All Stars, Daryl, Terri, and Chris absolutely smashed their fundraising goal of $2,500, raising an incredible $5,260 for the Leukaemia Foundation. And that number is still rising. Every dollar goes directly towards funding critical research and supporting patients and their families through treatment.
To our three All Stars, you made us proud. Taking on a challenge like this takes courage, and the generosity you inspired in the people around you is a reflection of the kind of community we’re lucky to be part of.
A huge thank you also to Grindstone Williamstown for setting up on-site and making sure our three brave volunteers are still looking sharp.
Blood cancers affect over 150,000 Aussies, with 55 people diagnosed every day. It’s an umbrella term covering more than 100 different types of blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.
Funds raised through the World’s Greatest Shave go directly to the Leukaemia Foundation, helping provide practical, day-to-day support. This includes accommodation close to treatment, financial assistance to help manage the cost of care, and transport to and from medical appointments, alongside funding for new research projects.
It’s the kind of support that makes a real difference, both long-term through research and in the everyday moments that matter most for patients and their families.
