A smooth hire should feel pretty seamless. Your equipment turns up to site on time and ready to work.
What you don’t always see is the planning and checks that happen before it gets there. Behind every delivery is a fair bit of coordination to make sure the equipment suits the job and gets delivered where it needs to be. By the time it arrives, the machine has already been checked over, fuelled, charged, and lined up with your site access.
Here’s everything that happens before your equipment arrives onsite, from the first call to the equipment pickup.
Before we recommend a machine, we need to know more about the work you’re trying to get done. Your job might need the manoeuvrability and quiet control of a compact electric machine, or the height and reach of a trusty boom lift. A quick chat over the phone or by email helps our customer service team get across the basics, like:
Getting this information early helps us match the equipment to the task, the site conditions, and the way your crew needs to work. It also means the next steps, from machine checks to transport, can be planned properly from the start.
After we’ve ironed out the details, sometimes the next step is getting eyes on the site. If you’re not sure what height or reach you need, or whether the site has any space restrictions or ground conditions to work around, we can come and take a look.
Our team will check things like operating space, terrain, overhead obstacles, clearances, and where the machine needs to be delivered or set up. From there, we can recommend equipment that best suits the job, rather than guessing from photos or measurements alone.

Once we’ve landed on the best piece (or pieces) of equipment, we get it ready to work. Before it leaves the yard, our team runs a full access equipment safety inspection: battery or fuel levels, tyres or tracks, controls and safety features, logbooks, general condition, and any attachments or accessories your job needs. Then it’s prepped and secured for transport.
These EWP safety checks are the same across our fleet, and they’re there for one reason. So when your operator runs their own equipment pre-start checks onsite, everything should already be in working order.
Getting the machine to site is a job in itself, and it’s one we plan around you. We work out delivery timing to suit your schedule and site access, then load and secure the machine so it travels safely. We’ll factor in any delivery instructions, sort the pickup, and if your project moves, we’ll shift the machine between sites too. Reliable access equipment delivery means it’s there when you need it, not holding up the rest of your day.
Once a machine comes back from a hire, the work starts again. Every machine that returns from a hire gets checked over, so we can pick up anything that needs attention and stay on top of servicing and EWP maintenance checks. That’s how the fleet stays ready to go, and how a machine can be prepped and out the door quickly without cutting corners. It’s all backed by our scheduled maintenance program.

When the prep is done properly, you shouldn’t have to think about it at all. The gear is ready to go, the details are handled, and nothing gets in the way of your crew getting stuck in.
