How our free onsite assessments work

Need an elevated work platform (EWP) for your project, but weighing up which option will suit the site best?

Sometimes you’ll get a site with narrow access or tricky terrain to manoeuvre. Other times, you’re coordinating multiple machines across different stages of a project.

That’s where our free onsite assessments come in.

One of our experienced team will come out to your site, chat with you about the requirements, take a look at the conditions, and recommend the best equipment for the job. 

Here’s how it works.

Step 1. We discuss the job requirements

First things first, we’ll get clear on what your project requirements are. We can do this over the phone or email before your site assessment. Whatever works best.

That includes the working height you need, whether you need vertical or horizontal reach, how many people or materials need to go up with the machine, and whether the work is happening indoors or outside.

Those details quickly start narrowing down the options. If you’re not sure of the exact height or reach, no stress. We can measure it up when we’re onsite.

We’ll also talk through how the machine will be used across the project. You might need one EWP for a single task, or several machines working across different areas or stages of the job.

Step 2. We assess the site conditions

Once we understand the job, that’s when we’ll come out to your site and take a look.

That can include things like:

• Entry points and access widths: Gates, doorways, alleyways, corridors, and any other access points the machine needs to pass through.
• Available operating space: To position and manoeuvre the machine safely once the machine is in the work area.
• Slopes and gradients: How steep the site is and whether the machine can travel, position, and level safely where the work needs to happen.
• Ground conditions: If the surface is soft, muddy, uneven, gravelled, or unsealed, can determine whether rough terrain or tracked equipment is needed.
• Indoor or outdoor operation: Clearances, ventilation, terrain, and tighter spaces can affect the size and power type of the machine.
• Power and charging requirements: Battery runtime, charging requirements, and access to suitable power if electric equipment is being considered.
• Overhead structures and obstacles: Beams, awnings, pipework, rooflines, power infrastructure, and anything else that could affect reach or positioning.

A machine can have all the height and reach you need on paper, but that doesn’t help much if it can’t get through the door or handle the ground conditions.

Seeing the site ourselves means we can factor all of that into the recommendation.

Step 3. We recommend the right equipment

Once we’ve looked at the job requirements and the site conditions, we can talk you through the options and recommend the equipment best suited to your project.

That might mean a compact electric model for narrow, indoor access or 4WD rough terrain equipment for more challenging ground conditions. The aim is to match you with the features, capacity, and technology the job actually needs, without overcomplicating it.

We’ll also flag any equipment suitability or safety considerations that may need to be factored into your broader site planning and compliance requirements.

If the project needs more than one machine, we can also help work out the right mix across different areas or stages of the job.

Step 4. We provide your no-obligation quote

Once we’ve worked out the best equipment for the job, we’ll put together a no-obligation quote covering the hire period, transport, and any delivery or pickup requirements.

This gives you a clear, more accurate picture of the hire costs upfront.

From there, our team can coordinate delivery around your project schedule, making sure the right equipment arrives where and when you need it. Once the job’s done, we’ll organise the pickup too.
